Image Source: BCCI[/caption] Kolkata : India were 12-0 in their second innings at lunch on the third day of the second cricket Test against New Zealand at the Edens Garden, Kolkata on Sunday. Starting the day at 128/7, New Zealand were dismissed for 204 in 53 overs in their first innings. India now leads by 124 runs with 10 wickets in hand. The Indian openers have survived through to lunch. The hosts are well in the driver’s seat with a lead of 124 runs. If New Zealand want to do something better in this test , the only way is to keep India’s lead to around 300. Even that would be quite difficult task to achieve. The Kiwis did show some fight this morning through Jiten Patel and Watling. Patel, infact played with ease in the middle and scored a good total of 47 runs. However after Patel’s dismissal, Shami cleaned up the rest of the tail. Brief Score: India 1st innings: 316 New Zealand 1st innings: 204 all out in 53 overs (J S Patel 47; B Kumar 5/48, M Shami 3/70).

India 2nd innings: 12-0 in 5 overs (M Vijay 7*, S Dhawan 4*, T Boult 0/3)
