File Picture[/caption] Internet Desk : Iranian Para-cyclist Baheman Golbarnezad has died after an accident during the men’s C4-5 road race event at Rio Paralympics . He fell during the event and died due to his injuries, regardless of an attempt to take him to the hospital for treatment , officials quoted . Golbarnezhad finshied his race on 14^th in the time-trial on Wednesday and also took part at the London 2012 Paralympics . He was Iran’s only para-cyclist at the Rio Paralympics. Iran’s National Paralympic Committee(NPC) said,”  Regretfully,IRAN NPC announces that Mr Bahman Golbarnezhad, passed away because of his accident during the competition. “. The athelete’s family were informed in Iran and his fellow Iranian Paralympic mates were brought to the games village and were informed of the miserable news . Sir Philip Carven, the International Paralympic Committee president, quoted: “The Paralympic family is united in grief at this horrific tragedy which casts a shadow over what have been great Paralympic Games here in Rio.” Carlos Nuzman, president of Rio 2016, added: “This is very sad news for sport and for the Paralympic movement. Our hearts and prayers are with Bahman’s family, his team-mates and all the people of Iran.” An investigation regarding this accident has been set afloat.
