Now she is just one step away from bagging the Olympic Gold. Otherwise she had confirmed at least the Silver, which will be a history in Indian badminton arena. After defeating the world no.2 in the quarterfinal the Hyderabadi singles shuttler was confident enough to win the semi-final. She beat the world no.6 Nozomi Okuhara of Japan today in straight set. Also the score line will depict that how easily she advanced into the final. She won it by 21-19 21-10. In the final Sindhu has to face the toughest challenge against Carolina Marin of Spain. Marin is currently at the top of world ranking. She won the world championship 2015 beating Saina Nehwal. Former woman Olympian PT Usha and Bronze medalist in London Olympics 2012 Mary Kom gave their reactions on Sindhu as well as Sakshi's medal wins and they slammed socialist Shobhaa De on making harsh comments on the Indian participants. Regarding Sindhu's win, PT Usha said, "I was confident of Sindhu going to the final. In the last two rounds, she had beaten competitively much more tougher opponents than today. But she missed out losing some silly points to the Japanese opponent today which she should not have done. But the way she came back hard on her, it was amazing to witness." On the big final slated for Friday, PT Usha commented, "Sindhu is in her top form and I expect she would continue that. So we should pray for her Gold medal. But I would suggest her to show the same aggression and play with the same effort which she did today." PT Usha blasted on Shobhaa De on her previous comments on the Indian athletes and commented regarding women power in Rio 2016 saying, "I don't want to say anything controversial and differentiate among boys and girls." She later added, "But I would only say one thing that the medals to Sindhu-Sakshi is a tight slap on so called 'celebrities' faces of Shobhaa De who say anything to be on the headlines for cheap publicity. Today everybody like Sania Mirza, Amitabh Bachchan, President of India and PM Modi are congratulating them for their effort and medals." London Olympics Bronze medalist boxer Mary Kom too congratulated Sindhu and said, "This is great performance from Sindhu. I wish she gets a Gold tomorrow and make the nation proud." Regarding women power, Mary Kom echoed Usha and was defensive too as did not want to be controversial. She said, "I don't want to say anything which would create controversy but would like to make one thing clear whenever we the athletes participate in Olympics we try to give more than 100% whether it be men or women." Regarding Shobhaa De, Mary said, "It's very easy to comment on anything. Its her personal comment but I would we the athletes give our best in any event we participate and trying to make bring the nation glory." Apart from these two athletes, celebrities from all round the country like Sachin Tendulkar, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Abhinav Bindra, Amitabh Bachchan, Leander Paes as well as the President of India and PM Modi tweeted on Sindhu's success on their personal twitter accounts President of India
