Xtra Time[/caption] Kolkata: Kalighat beat Mohun Bagan by 8 runs (D/L method) to lift P.Sen Trophy in a rain-affected match. This is Kalighat's season's first major trophy. Captain Manoj Tiwary of Kalighat dedicated this victory to senior pro Shib Sankar Paul who donned the club jersey for the final time. Shib Sankar Paul, commonly known as Maco announced his retirement from all forms of cricket two days back after playing with pride for the last 21 years. Maco got emotional after the match as he was in tears. Maco's wife Debisree and daughter Sabhri was present at the Eden Gardens to watch him play for the final time. Maco in tears Maco donned the Green and Maroon jersey for the maximum part of his career. So, Mohun Bagan players bid adieu to him with a memento and a watch. CAB President Sourav Ganguly was present at the Eden Gardens and on behalf of CAB, the speedster was felicitated with a bouquet. Maco with Manoj Dada Meanwhile, Mohun Bagan's decision of fielding first after winning the toss paid them back badly. Kalighat's openers gave them a fascinating with both of them cracking a ton each. Ishank Jaggi (127) and Shib Sankar Roy (138) helped them reach a massive total of 306 for the loss of 4 wickets in 45.1 overs. Bagan's Rajkumar Pal took 3 wickets conceding 50 runs. In reply, Bagan lost the path from the beginning of the chase. They lost 6 wickets at a quick succession with the score being just 44 in 9.4 overs. Bagan's most dependable batsman Wriddhiman Saha too got struggled to get the ball on to the bat. Wriddhi could only manage 7 runs from 18 balls spending almost 27 mins.in the crease. Rain interrupted play twice today, the first interruption being at 3:21 pm for 38 mins while the second interruption being at 4:11 pm for 29 mins. During the first interruption, the revised target for the Green and Maroons was 254 runs in 38 overs. After the second and final interruption, the target got changed for Mohun Bagan as now the re-revised target was 208 runs in 38 overs. Senior pros Debabrata Das (77) and Sanjib Sanyal (42)tried their best for the Green and Maroon brigade but failed to reach the target and was short by just 8 runs. maco with players Manoj Tiwary appreciated his side's fighting attitude till the end and said, "We played some very good and consistent cricket throughout the season but failed to receive any major trophy. At last we have received this one. Boys fought well and from the morning the boys looked positive and I could feel something good is waiting for us. Without so many senior players the way the juniors took the initiative, I feel proud of them. I and my whole team dedicate this victory to Macoda. He has done wonders for Bengal cricket during his playing career and wish him all the best for the future."
