Katsumi Yusa (25') broke the deadlock before Sony Norde's brace (45'+1', 52') and Jeje Lalpekhlua's strike (90'+4') saw the Mariners advance to the semi-finals of the competition with a 7-2 aggregate score-line. The hosts threatened to get off to a flying start as they nearly took the lead twice in the third minute. First, Jeje Lalpekhlua's right-footed strike was blocked on the line before Sony Norde's effort from the ensuing corner-kick was cleared by Eder Monteiro just before the Indian international could latch on to it. The Mariners broke the deadlock in the 25 minutes of the play. Lenny Rodrigues played in Norde on the left flank who immediately darted towards goal before squaring the ball for an unmarked Katsumi Yusa to slide home. On the stroke of half-time however, Norde scored Bagan's second goal of the game to make it 5-2 in their favour on aggregate. Katsumi's pass sent the Haitian clean through on goal and he dispatched his finish past an onrushing Karanjit Singh to put the hosts firmly in the driving seat. The Half-time score line showed Bagan leading 2-0 (Agg: 5-2). Seven minutes into the second period, the home team extended their lead with a third goal. Norde beat Nicolau before his angled shot found the right corner despite Karanjit getting a hand to it. In the fourth minute of stoppage time, Jeje brought the curtain down on the tie with a fine individual goal. The striker went on a solo run before beating Karanjit with ease as the game ended 4-0 in the home team's favour and 7-2 on aggregate. The result means that Mohun Bagan will take on Shillong Lajong FC in the semi-finals of the competition.
