File Pic.[/caption] Internet Desk: Failure to retain the I League isn’t the end of road for Mohun Bagan coach Sanjoy Sen. The gaffer is now setting his sights on the forthcoming Federation Cup and AFC Cup matches. While the failure to win the premier football tournament of the country has already taken its toll on arch rivals East Bengal as Coach Biswajit Bhattacharya decided to resign, Bagan officials are taking a wait and watch approach as far as Sanjoy Sen is concerned. The I League winning coach knows very well, a failure in the Federation Cup and AFC Cup matches will see him face a similar fate as Biswajit. Sanjay himself is not too concerned about the situation and sounded optimistic about doing well in Fed Cup and AFC Cup. According to Sanjoy Sen, “Failing to win the I League is not the end of the road. We still have two more tournaments left before the end of season. We should try and focus on doing well in the Federation Cup and AFC Cup.” On being asked if he anticipates a similar fate as Biswajit Bhattacharya who resigned as East Bengal coach after taking all moral responsibility, Sen replied, “In modern day success is what matters. I am not shying away from failures. As a professional coach one has to be ready with the situations. As far as I am concerned, doing well in Fed Cup and AFC Cup is now my prime focus. I will not hesitate to relinquish my post if I fail to bring do well in this two tournaments.” Mohun Bagan will have a golden opportunity to settle scores with the I League champions when they take them on at Siliguri on April 23. Heaving praises on Westwood and his players for winning the I League, Sanjoy Sen commented, “I have to admit it was a great effort from Bengaluru FC footballers and coach Westwood particulary for winning the I league twice in 3 years. The credit should go to all the Bengaluru FC players and support staff. It was definitely a commendable effort to win 10 matches.” The Mariners will be boosted by the availability of Sony Norde who looks to have recovered fully from the injury he suffered recently. According to Sanjoy Sen, “Norde looks to have recovered fully from the injury he suffered recently. He is eager to play the tie against Bengaluru FC. I also feel he will be fully fit ahead of the tie against Bengaluru.” Asked whether the Bengaluru tie will be a motivation for his boys, “I am not looking too far ahead. All I want from my boys is to end the I League on a high,” Sen signs off.
