Image Source: File Pic[/caption] Kolkata: Frenchman Bernard Mendy is ruled out for one week due to tear in hamstring and he is set to miss the Sporting Clube de Goa match tomorrow at Barasat.  Ahead of the Sporting Clube de Goa match, interim coach Sanjay Majhi and defender Deepak Mondal attended the press match conference in the East Bengal club. On the issue of Bernard Mendy’s injury, Sanjay Majhi said, “Whoever is not there, I cannot cry on it. We have to move forward with the resources we have.” On the other hand, Sporting Clube de Goa too will miss the services of their captain Nigerian Odafa Okoli. Odafa is out of the I-league as he has to operate his leg. Odafa’s injury has brought smile on the face of East Bengal team management. Although, Bengaluru FC will be emerged champions if they win against Salgaocar but the Red and Gold are not thinking of any equations. They just want to concentrate on the Sporting Clube de Goa match and want to grab the all important three points. On asking, Sanjay Majhi that will you discuss with ex-coach Biswajit Bhattacharya regarding the Sporting match. The Red and Gold interim coach replied,” No, not at all. Whatever support staff we have right now, we will decide anything taking collective decisions.” Meanwhile, Arnab Mondal will also miss the Sporting clash due to suspension. It was veteran Deepak Mondal who accompanied Sanjay Majhi in the press conference. Interestingly, Deepak Mondal has not yet played a single match in this year’s I-league but he has featured in the press conference today and it is still uncertain whether he will feature in tomorrow’s playing XI or not. Regarding this issue, “I do not know why our previous coach did not play me. I am fit and ready to play.” Narayan Das, who is considered as the best left back in the country right now, has played hardly any matches. This has raised eyebrows on many supporters’ face. Deepak Mondal quoted as saying, “That was the decision of our former coach. He is the best person to answer these questions.” Sanjay Majhi who was the goalkeeper coach for East Bengal during Biswajit’s reign and it was found East Bengal conceded some silly goals. What drastic change can you make in a short period as an interim head coach? Sanjay signed off saying, “When Luis Barreto saved a genuine penalty in the derby nobody came and credited me. So why now questions are raised on my ability.”
