CFL 2017: Why Khalid Jamil's East Bengal is a fresh air in Indian football?
Kolkata: In such an era when Indian football is ruled by the foreigners, Khalid Jamil's East Bengal is showing the milky ways of a different picture. The Red and Gold brigade has been playing some amazing football this season and sitting pretty on the top of the points table with five consecutive victories.
Unlike the previous seasons, East Bengal's Indian talents and not the foreigners are scoring goals in abundance. Khalid's team has already scored 17 goals this season in 5 games. Out of the seventeen goals the Indians scored thirteen goals with VP Suhair scored five on his own. On the flip side, the foreigners have only managed to score four of them with Carlyle Mitchell leading the list with two goals, Mahmoud Al Amna and Willis Plaza scored an each.
