Image Source: XtraTime[/caption] Kolkata: There is a rule in Indian Railway that every employee has to sign a bond that if he or she wants to leave the job before completion of five years that person has to pay rupees 10 Lakh as a compensation to the Railways which is the salary of the employee for five years time. Talented Bengal cricketer Sayan Ghosh is facing this problem as he left the job after completing just two years. In the year 2013 he joined South East Railway as a Group D staff. He was forced to take the job as his father, Shankar Kumar Ghosh had already retired from his job and Sayan was the only earning member of the family. While working in Kharagpur, Sayan understood that if he tries to continue his job he has to leave cricket, which was next to impossible for him. So he decided to leave the job.” I took the job to help my family as I was the only earning member of my family. I had to leave for my job at 8am and I had to work at to work at the workshop till 4 o'clock. By doing that I didn't get ample time for practice, which was harmful for my cricketing career. Later when I understood that I am doing well in cricket, I had decided to leave the job. In January 2015 I had sent my resignation letter to the South Eastern Railway that I don’t want to continue this job. After a period of 1 year suddenly I received a letter from my office that I have to pay 10 Lakh rupees as a compensation,” said Sayan. “After that I have asked everyone for help, but finally nothing has happened. Couple of months back they sent me a final letter that if I don’t pay the fine in one month, they will take strict action against me. The deadline has already passed. My father went to Kharagpur to talk with the higher authority of railways too but nothing positive have happend. Though they haven’t taken any strict action against me but they can file a case against me on any day. If railway file a case against me then I cannot join any office and nobody will call me for a trial too.” Sayan also said that when he was at Railway, the officials forced him to play for the side but at they didn’t include him in the playing XI.” I was in Uttar Pradesh to play a U-23 match for Bengal. But the Railway team management forced me to go to Chhattisgarh to play for them in the Inter Railway U-23 tournament. I had no choice but to go there as they said that they may take strict action against me. But they didn’t give me a chance to play there too.” Sayan and his family have finally decided that they will pay the fine of rupees 10 Lakh to the Railway to start his career a fresh. Sayan was in the Kolkata Knight Riders squad last year as they picked the talented Bengal bowler as an uncapped Indian player. Though Sayan hadn’t played a single game for KKR he had received rupees 10 Lakh as his contract fee. Many people had said that KKR hadn’t done anything for any Bengal cricketer but coincidentally that 10 Lakh rupees from KKR is helping Sayan now.” My father will go to Kharagpur in one or two days to pay the fine. But after this I will start with a new oath. My parents too said me that god is with me that's why I am finally paying the rupees to the Railway. This year will be the most crucial year of my career and I will try my level best to do something good in this season.”
