Virat Kohli & co. had expressed their unhappiness regarding the practice jersey as they thought it was a sub-standard jersey. BCCI’s two top officials, Rahul Johri and Ratnakar Shetty have talked to Supreme Court appointed CoA regarding this matter. CoA chairman Vinod Rai too expressed his concern regarding this issue. The Indian cricket team has reached Pallekele today to play the second ODI against Sri Lanka. The Men in Blue were seen wearing new practice jerseys during India’s optional practice session. Rahul Johri confirmed the reports to Indian Express and said, “It (Nike’s clothing) has come up for discussion in last CoA meeting and chairman CoA (Vinod Rai) took it very strongly. The team cannot have sub-standard kits and we will be engaging with Nike and he has asked to put our case strongly. We have to engage with them, we will have a meeting with them (Nike) next week and try to resolve it at earliest.” A few staffs from Nike visited the Pallekele Stadium today to meet the Indian team management regarding this matter.
