Former India skipper and CAB President Sourav Ganguly’s statue will be installed in a few days time after the interference of Honourable Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee. Last Saturday, Sourav unveiled his won bronze statue at the Bikash Maidan in Balurghat in the presence of thousands of fans. According to the sources some Intra-group violence among the leaders of the ruling party Trinamool Congress, Ganguly’s statue was not installed on that day. But finally the Chief Minister of the state, Smt. Mamata Banerjee intervened in the issue as Sourav Ganguly is regarded as the pride of Bengal as well as the whole nation. Tomorrow in a meeting of South Dinjapur Sports Association the officials will take a decision where they would install Sourav’s statue. As per reports it could be installed in Gangarampur Municipality, Balurghat Municipality or near to the entrance of Bikash Maidan in Balurghat. According to South Dinjapur Sports Association official Goutam Goswami,” Sourav Ganguly is not only the hero of West Bengal but also the whole country. We are really disheartened that this dirty politics has happened with a personality like him. The Association will install his statue as early as possible and we are happy that he is finally getting the honour which he always deserves.”
