The Santosh Trophy winning Bengal coach picked up an ankle injury and had to sit outside of the ground throughout the training session. The A-Licensed coach is also speculating a surgery is needed with the way he got injured. Today, in the demo shooting training his left ankle suddenly got stuck into the ground and he fell down quite awkwardly. The gaffer was taken to club Assistant Secretary Dr Shanti Ranjan Dasgupta's place for the diagnosis after he went to his hospital for the MRI scan. After reverting the scan report, Dr. Shanti Ranjan Dasgupta said, "Yes he has a tear in his Achilles Tendon fibre tissue and will have to take rest for minimum of four weeks if not more. I don't think it will be possible for him to continue his job anymore." On the other hand, Mridul said, "Yes, this was perhaps my fate. It is so unfortunate. I had a great team and I started to dream of doing something special with the time I had but considering the condition I'm in at the moment, it is very disappointing." No doubt, this is quite an unfortunate way to start the new innings of coaching for Mridul Banerjee. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJAkcpUykUE&feature=youtu.be
