Image Source: XtraTime[/caption] Debasis Sen, Bengaluru: Former Australian captain Steve Waugh will feel a lot proud to see Steve Smith and his team putting up a great show in India. Waugh, who is in India, now was present at the Chinnaswamy Stadium today, to watch the proceedings from the main stands. He was accompanied by the partners of his real estate property waughglobal.com. In between watching the match, Steve also was seen doing radio commentary with his former team mate Simon Katich. Waugh, who led Australia in that infamous tour to India in 2001, was unlucky to win a series then. He knows a thing or two about how a decision can backfire in India. The visitors begun the series with a win in Mumbai and looked favorites to walk away with the series. But it all spiraled away for him in that famous Eden Gardens Test, where VVS Laxman and Rahul Dravid — after being forced to follow on — mounted a stirring fight back. India’s win snapped Australia’s 16-match unbeaten streak. Waugh, who was unsuccessful then would hope Steve Smith’s team, can go on to win the series after their morale boosting win in Pune. The former Australian cricketer, who preferred to leave the stadium immediately after the tea break, did speak briefly about his visit to India. “I am in India to promote Waugh Global which is the largest privately-owned real estate platform in India. I will be visiting Kolkata shortly,” said Steve to xtratime.in as he embarks on an auto-rickshaw on his way back to the hotel. On-lookers did not hesitate to take a picture or two on noticing the former Australian captain. He did enjoy bumping on the three-wheeler. Few days back another former Aussie captain Michael Clarke also tried his luck on a auto-rickshaw ride in the Garden City. Waugh is also planning to visit Varanasi to immerse the ashes of his late friend Marty in the Ganges. It has been a long desire of Marty, who used to polish shoes in Sydney Metro station to immerse his ashes in the sacred river. The former Australian captain and legendary batsman has ventured into this business way back in 2014. The purpose of this portal will be to sell Indian Properties to non-resident Indians (NRIs). Its primary clients shall be NRIs and people of Indian descent living in other countries. Other services that this portal will give are property management, banks finance and also all kind of help its clients need. Waugh’s company has 91 properties listed on its portal in seven cities of India viz. New Delhi, Pune, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Kolkata. These 91 properties have been developed by 10 developers.
