File Pic[/caption] Kolkata: If nothing dramatic happens in the next 48 hours, then Anil Kumble will start his new innings as coach of the Indian team. According to sources,  the leg spinner with almost 950 International wickets is leading the two prong race with former Team India director Ravi Shastri as the next India head coach. The three member advisory committee is believed to have  agreed to appoint Kumble as the coach. Even, BCCI Secretary Ajay Shirke is well aware with the trio's decision. It is learnt that the final decision would be taken in the next Working Committee meeting in Dharamshala on Friday. Current test captain Virat Kohli will have a huge say in the appoinment of the new coach. The Cricket Advisory Committee is expected to speak to Virat Kohli asking about his wish. If Kohli is determined with Ravi Shastri's appointment, then only Anil Kumble would run out of contention. According to sources in BCCI, Virat Kohli is very close to Ravi Shastri. But the question arises, will Virat Kohli himself take this huge risk of putting his head into the coach selection matters? Yesterday, CAC appointed by the BCCI collectively decided that Team India does not need a foreign coach. But way back in the year 2000, the trio of Sachin, Sourav and Laxman with Kumble and Dravid gave their nods ahead on appointing John Wright as then Team India's head coach. But now they feel after 16 years, a foreign coach is not needed. So, Tom Moody, Andy Moles and Trevor Penny's skype presentation did not put any effect on the trio's mind. CAC did not have any negative view on Ravi Shastri. But they feel, in the reign of Ravi Shastri India performed well in patches. So, they are planning to keep Ravi Shastri as the batting coach with the amount of experience Ravi possesses on playing away from home as a batsman during his playing days. Sanjay Bangar is not at all ideal for that position although he took Team India to Zimbabwe as the head coach. But the question arises, will Ravi Shastri prefer to work under Anil Kumble as the batting coach? Although, the CAC is only set up to appoint the head coach but they are not happy with Ravi's conditions about retaining the old support staff. They feel that Ravichandran Ashwin is the prime face of India's bowling attack home as well as away. If Ashwin bowls well in tests India wins in sub continent. Whenever he has failed to scalp wickets for the Men in Blue away from home, India fails to win. So they feel India actually needs a spin bowling coach at least for the away series. Kumble would be the ideal person to take care of Ashwin which Bharat Arun failed to do. Lalchand Rajput and Pravin Amre was present in the city yesterday to present their presentations. Rajput's presentations was the best among the two. It is expected among these two any one can be appointed as one of the support staff. But if Kumble is appointed as the head coach, he would want Zaheer Khan as the fast bowling coach. Ravi Shastri gave his interview from Thailand but did not give any powerpoint presentations to Sourav and Laxman present in the city and to Sachin who was on video conferencing from Glasgow. He would return to India on Sunday. On the other hand, Kumble not only gave a power point presentations but did submit a full structure of his plans and ideas with the road map on how to achieve success in the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup.  Earlier, when he was appointed as the India test captain Kumble in the same manner presented a road map. If something dramatic does not happen in the next 48 hours, "Umpire" Anurag Thakur is set to call "Right Arm Leg break over the wicket" in Dharamshala on Friday. The Committee appointed by the BCCI for the selection of Head Coach of the Indian Cricket Team met today to deliberate further on the options and possibilities based on the presentations made by the applicants. After detailed deliberations it was decided that they would further go through the finer details and submit their report to the Honorary Secretary of the BCCI on the morning of June 24, 2016.
