Xtra Time Web Desk: The second best team to win the IPL title, four times Chennai Super Kings are yet to register a win in the IPL 2022 under the leadership of Ravindra Jadeja. This has happened for the first time that CSK has lost back to back 3 matches in this season of Indian Premier League (IPL). After MS Dhoni passed the captaincy duties to Ravindra Jadeja, CSK have been struggling to live up to the defending teams in IPL 2022.

Making his captaincy debut for CSK in IPL 2022, Jadeja has failed to guide the team to their first win in the new season. After a 6-wicket defeat at the hands of Shreyas Iyer-led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), CSK were hoping to bounce back in their second match of the new season. New entrants Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) thwarted CSK's bid of registering their first win with a 6-wicket win over the Jadeja-led side. Jadeja & Co. will meet Mayank Agarwal-led Punjab Kings (PBKS) in match No.11 of the IPL 2022 at the Brabourne Stadium on Sunday.

Speaking ahead of the match, former Indian head coach Shastri pointed out the mediocre run of the CSK openers that is hurting the Chennai-based franchise in their title-defending season. "It's a cause for concern when both openers are not performing. It's very important for one of the openers to strike form as soon as possible because they have lost two matches. There's a new captain at the helm, and he's under pressure. Yes, Dhoni is in form but if one of those openers doesn't score then CSK will find it difficult in this tournament," Shastri told ESPNcricinfo.
