XT: It was a clinical finish for KKR against Daredevils. Do you agree?
We had a really good week. We had a pretty decent performance the other night. Everyone did their job. It was a clinical performance from the team.
XT:
The Knights had a great start in the last season but gave it away towards the end. What does the team needs to do from here on?
From now on it is very simple. We just need to do the basics right. If we play like the way we did in the first match we have a great chance to go distance. The Daredevils got off to a good start but we pulled things back. We were very very professional the way we went in with our batting. There was no rash shots in the run chase.
XT: You watched Virat Kohli take away the match from Australia in World T20 clash at Mohali. What is your opinion about Kohli?
Virat’s an exceptional player. I loved the way he goes about, not afraid to shy away from tough situations. That’s what I like the best about him. He is pretty much relaxed and in control. He’s got shots all round the ground and he knows when to use those shots. He always knows what ball is coming. As a bowler it’s quite tough to bowl at him. That’s the quality of a great batsman.
The innings he played at Mohali was the best T20 innings I have ever seen in my life. You have to take your hat off for the guy who does that. You got beaten by someone who was the best.
XT:
Who according to you is the most difficult batsman to bowl at among Root, Williamson, Kohli and Smith?
Absolutely, it is tough to bowl at these guys. You got to try and limit their options. So, try to make him score in one area rather than making him score all around the ground. You have to try and take them out of their comfort zone. Virat and Joe Root can score all around the ground.
For me I think Steve Smith is very hard to bowl at. He has free movement with back and across. I find very hard to bowl to. Virat stays still and can score all around the ground. I find it very difficult to bowl at Virat.
XT:
Look forward to your interaction with KKR bowling coach Wasim Akram?
I have only met Wasim two days ago and he already helped me with my wrist position getting behind the ball a little bit more. Obviously a legend of the game and I am looking forward to working with him. I will have more interaction with him in the next 8 weeks. It’s the knowledge he brings having played all around the world. He has bowled to a lot of very good batsman. He knows the condition very and I am excited to work with him.
XT:
Being a trained physical education teacher, does it help to keep yourself fit?
Yeah, I did my degree when I just passed my high school. I was lucky enough. I got a scholarship from the university in Sydney. My mum is also a physical education teacher as well.
XT:
You were part of the Chennai Super Kings last season. How has your experience been playing in IPL?
Every time that I have played here in India, it has been a packed crowd. Everyone gets involved, lot of cheers. I am looking forward to it. I love playing here in India. People here are very passionate. That’s what I love as well.
XT:
Did you watch yourself in the KKR video shot recently? You looked quite funny it in?
It was quite a funny experience to shoot for the video. I haven’t got a chance to meet him yet. I am looking forward to meet Shahrukh. In my experience of playing around the world, the teams that are close are the successful ones.
XT: Did you get an opportunity to meet the team owner Shahrukh Khan?
It will be great to meet him in person and have a drink with him. I am looking forward to meeting him. He is always on the TV.

On the other hand, we denounce with righteous indignation and dislike men who are so beguiled and demoralized by the charms of pleasure of the moment
