Xtra Time Web Desk: A late cameo from Ravindra Jadeja (31 off 11) helped Chennai Super Kings register a 6 wickets win over Kolkata Knight Riders in Match 49 of IPL 2020 at Dubai International Stadium. Jadeja’s knock included 2 fours and three sixes. Ruturaj Gaikwad too played a brilliant knock of 72 off 53 balls for CSK. This was the second successive win for MS Dhoni and his team this season.

Earlier, after winning the toss, Chennai opted to bowl first. They were largely doing well but Rana's 87 swung the momentum in Kolkata's favour. After his dismissal, Chennai were back in the game again but DK's cameo (21 off 10) towards the end once again pulled things back in Kolkata's favour.

The loss see KKR remain on fifth spot with 12 points although they played one game more than Kings XI Punjab.

CSK captain MS Dhoni looked a lot pleased with the performance from his boys who failed to live up to the expectation right throughput the season. According to Dhoni, "I think it was one game where the plans went in our favour. Needed a lot of effort from the players. Really glad the coin fell in our favour. This season Jadeja has been fantastic. He's been the only batsman in our team who has taken the job of scoring in the last few overs. Not just using his power but through point if the field is up. I feel throughout the season we needed someone by his side.

Losing captain Eoin Morgan said, "We probably played a bit well there. Probably on the wrong side of the loss with the toss. Our bowlers gave it everything, but the skills were a bit off. We'll have to move on quickly. I think the score was enough. We felt we were right in the game. Probably 165 was par if the wicket and conditions stayed the same. I actually think we had a good batting day. One world class spinner, and the other on the cusp of playing for India. They're fantastic spinners. I can't fault any bowlers. Nagarkoti probably didn't have enough runs to defend, would have liked 16-17. He's a young guy, he'll take it on the chin and move on."
