XtraTime Web Desk: Mahendra Singh Dhoni, while walking on to toss against Sunrisers Hyderabad became the most capped player in the Indian Premier League on Friday. The Chennai Super Kings talisman left behind his teammate Suresh Raina.

With 194 IPL matches, Dhoni overtook Raina, who is not part of the cash rich league this season. The left hander returned home despite traveling to UAE, citing personal reasons.

Dhoni has been an integral member of the Chennai Super Kings squad having led the franchise to three IPL titles. He was part of the Rising Pune Supergiants squad in 2016 & 2017 editions of the IPL. In the 193 IPL matches, Dhoni has scored 4476 runs at an average of 42.22.

In the ongoing season, the 39-year-old hasn't played an impactful innings till now. In the last two seasons, Dhoni was contributing with the bat having scored 400+ runs in both the IPLs. This is the first IPL for Dhoni post his international retirement on August 15. He has so far scored 44 runs from 3 matches.
