XtraTime Web Desk: Bangladesh’s forthcoming tour to India next month looks to be in jeopardy with the national cricketers led by Shakib al Hasan threatening for an indefinite strike if their demands are not met by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

The Tigers were scheduled to travel to India next month to play a three-match T20I series followed by two test matches. The first T20I is slated to take place at the Arun Jaitley stadium in Delhi. Shakib al Hasan was named the captain of the Bangladesh squad.

Earlier on Monday, news surrounding the Bangladesh cricketers holding a press conference in national capital Dhaka came to the fore. Senior players like Shakib, Mahmudullah Riyad and Mushfiqur Rahim were present during the interaction. The cricketers announced that they won’t take part in any cricket related activities unless a 11-point demand made to the Bangladesh Cricket Board is met. Improvement of payment structure and practice facilities in Dhaka Premier League, National Cricket League and Bangladesh Premier League were the major demands among others.

Here are the 11 demands of the Bangladesh cricketers:
1) Immediate resignation of an official named Quaweb Burman from present committee
2) Decision has to be taken before the start of Premier League. There has to be a deal between BCB and cricketers
3) Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) have to be reverted back to the old format
4) Match fees for first-class matches needs to be BDT 1 lakh. Each team needs to keep a full-time physio and practice facilities to be improved.
5) Travel allowance needs to be increased from BDT 1500. Players to be given flight tickets and good accommodation
6) No of contracted cricketers to be increased
7) Salary hike for support staffs (mainly national)
8) More ODI’s has to be staged in the country
9) Domestic cricket calendar needs to be revamped
10) Payments for BPL has to be cleared within stipulated time
11) Players should be allowed to play in more than two franchise leagues globally
