XtraTime Web Desk: Chennai Super Kings left arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja on Thursday achieved the milestone of claiming 100 wickets in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2019) match against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur. Jadeja is also the first left arm spinner and also the slowest to achieve the milestone in the cash rich league. He claimed his 100 wickets playing in his 161st IPL match. Incidentally the milestone came against his former franchise. “I always wanted to come here and play against this crowd. The support I get here is amazing. There are a lot of yellow jerseys in the stands. We are enjoying as a team and hopefully we continue with the momentum,” said an excited Jadeja during the break. Jadeja claimed the prized wicket of Steve Smith as his 100th. The former Australian captain tried to sweep him over the square leg boundary, only to be caught by Ambati Rayudu at mid-wicket.

According to Jadeja, “I was just looking for a wicket instead of trying and restricting the runs. The ball was spinning a little bit and I tried bowling in the stumps.” Jadeja has now claimed 100 or more wickets in all three formats of the game – tests, ODI’s and T20. The spinner has taken 192 wickets in tests and has 174 ODI wickets to his kitty. “Yeah I am happy the way I am bowling right now. I am enjoying my bowling, my overall cricket whether I am playing test cricket or ODI’s I am enjoying my game,” signed off Jadeja.
