Anilava Chatterjee, Samara: In the space a football is circumambulating the earth? Are you surprised? Yes it’s a totally different love story. In the year 1986 NASA sent a space shuttle named ‘Challenger’. The astronaut who travelled in the space ship was Ellison Onizuka. Ahead of going to the space Ellison’s daughter and her friends from Clearlake High School gave him a signed ball and asked him to take it there. Though the expedition was unsuccessful as along with Ellison seven astronauts died due to a blast.  The ball was brought back by Nasa. It went back to Clearlake School. For the next 30 years it was kept their in the school. The new principal Karen Angel came to know about this after her arrival there. Coincidentally a student’s father of the school works in NASA on a high post. The principle talked to NASA via that person and urged them to take the ball to the space. NASA has sent the ball in space. An astronaut named Shane Kimbrough took the ball at the space station. He has posted the image on social media stating the ball is circling the World. It’s a very heart touching story. Love is endless just like the space and it is the perfect example of that. In this World Cup the FIFA World Cup is also connected with space. The organizers took the match ball of Russia vs Saudi Arabia to outer space ahead of the game. After the ball was brought back from the space legendary Brazilian footballer Ronaldo carried the ball to the stadium. But the idea of connecting the World Cup with space was a long term thought of the Russian Government.  Four years back three astronauts from Russia unveiled the logo of 2018 FIFA World Cup in the space station. They said,” We can’t see any boundaries from here at the space station and it looks like there is only one nation from here. It was a dream for us to organize a World Cup and we are happy that it’s going to be true.” One can see the video clip of 2014 at Samara Museum. Soviet Union's entire research work was limited to this city only. Even the foreigners were not allowed to enter into the city. Though later on, things started to become normal. And now, by decorating the entire stuff, the The Russian Govt has built an entire museum for that. It got started back in 2001 on the 40th year celebration of Yuri Gagarin's visit to the space. On the entrance one can find huge rocket. After Gagarin's spaceship Vostok, Soviets started Sayuj Spaceships. On the entrace there is a Sayuj spaceship as well. Many surprises are there inside. You can find Yuri Gagarin's hammer. How an astronaut sleeps in the satellites you can also find here. Temporarily the organizers has transformed second floor of the space museum to a football museum. Huge crowd gathered there for the World Cup. Brazilian and Mexican fans came here after the match at Samara. Miniature of the Samara stadium are also there outside of the museum. Many people are buying those as memento. The relation between galaxy and football described here inside the museum. How the astronauts watch football and also Gagarin as a footballer are also there as a record. The World had an ownership with football but football in galaxy? Who knows in future we can see Russian astronots and American astronots to play football in the galaxy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYFrjezGBNw
