Image Source: ANI[/caption] Internet Desk: It couldn’t have been a befitting day as former India captain MS Dhoni was conferred the Padma Bhushan award by the President of India at the investiture ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhawan on Monday. It was on this day seven years back, Dhoni led India to World Cup glory at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Along with Dhoni, Pankaj Advani was also given the Padma Bhushan award. Dhoni won the final for India against Sri Lanka as he sent Nuwan Kulasekara into the stands over long on boundary with his trademark shot. The entire nation went frenzy after India won their second World Cup after 28 years. It was just another feather in cap for Dhoni. He has been the recipient of many awards, including the ICC ODI Player of the Year award in 2008 and 2009 , the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award in 2007 and the Padma Shri award in 2009. Earlier this year, on March 20, President Kovind had awarded the first batch of Padma Awards. Tennis player Somdev Devvarman, Indian badminton star Kidambi Srikanth, and 1972 Paralympics gold medalist swimmer Murlikant Petkar were among the attendees in the ceremony then.
