The football crazy fans of Goa will be relieved of paying too high prices for tickets to watch the U’17 matches . Goa is one of the venues in India to host FIFA U-17 World Cup matches. In a notification issued by under secretary (finance), Ajit Pawaskar said under section 5 of the Goa Entertainment Tax Act, 1964, the government is pleased to exempt the event of FIFA U-17 World Cup 2017 from the liability of payment of entertainment tax. The state cabinet in 2013 had approved unrestricted exemption from the entertainment and ticket tax for the forthcoming U-17 FIFA world cup games to be hosted in Goa in 2017. The host city agreement has been signed between Goa government and FIFA.
