Image Source: XtraTime[/caption] Kolkata: Bengal cricket team has started their Ranji Trophy campaign on a high note as they are at the top of the table with 10 points after playing two away matches. Manoj Tiwary and Co. gathered 3 points from their first match against Services and in the second game they thrashed Chhattisgarh by an innings and 160 runs to bag full 7 points. The players returned to the City of Joy today after a great show in away games. The team will start their training session again from 22nd October ahead of facing Himachal Pradesh in their first home game, on November 1 in Kolkata. The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) is trying to conduct the match at the Eden Gardens, but it is still not sure whether they will get the permission from BCCI as India is set to play their first Test match of the three-match Test series against Sri Lanka which will start from November 16 at the Eden Gardens. They have Jadavpur University ground and Kalyani Stadium ground as a second option. Manoj Tiwary & Co. started their campaign in Ranji Trophy last year too as they won three matches on the trot but lost their momentum after that. The Bengal skipper is well aware of that and according to him there is no room for complacency and the team needs to play same attacking cricket in their upcoming matches.”There is no room for complacency in the team. The team played a good brand of cricket in last two games and we want to continue playing this attacking cricket for the rest of the season,” said Manoj at the Kolkata airport today. The CAB organized a get together last year after Bengal won its first two away games. According to Many that was one of the reasons that the team became complacent. Though Manoj has  other view regarding this matter.”It was the Association's decision to arrange the get together. Now we are only thinking of playing good brand of cricket. If we perform well in the group stages in this season then we might arrange a get together ahead of the Knock-outs.” Manoj didn’t do much with the bat in his 100th first-class game, but he looked happy after his team won the match against Chhattisgarh and bagged full seven points,” I was not out against Chhattisgarh, the umpire gave a wrong decision against me. But I am happy that the team has won. The bowling of Mohammad Shami and a compact team performance to get full 7 points made me really happy.” Manoj created a nine men slip cordon against Chhattisgarh when they were nine down. On being asked why he had done that, Manoj said,” Shami was bowling brilliantly, against Chhattisgarh. They were literally in fear while facing him and that was the reason why I did that on the field yesterday.” Except Manoj, Bengal’s pace spearhead Ashoke Dinda too played his 100th first-class game where he took 10 wickets too. Dinda thanked his fellow teammate Mohammed Shami for helping him taking 10 wickets in his milestone match.” At one stage Chhattisgarh was nine wickets down and Shami was bowling to their tail-ender. He could bowl an yorker or a body length delivery but he was continuously bowling outside off stamp to give me the chance of taking 10 wickets in my memorable match.” On being asked whether this was an answer to the selectors, he said,” I have heard it a lot. I don’t play for showing anything to someone. It’s up to the selectors that whom they would prefer to pick.
