Internet Desk: Williams named today Karun Chandhok as its ‘heritage driver’, which will see him behind the wheels of the team’s historic Formula 1 cars for testing and exhibition purpose.

In his new role, the former Formula 1 driver from India will focus on the testing and public demonstration of Williams’ cars of yesteryears.

Chandhok will make his first appearance as a heritage driver at the 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed where he will drive up the iconic Goodwood Hill behind the wheel of an FW08C from 1983 and an FW13B from 1990.

Williams Heritage was created to manage the team s collection of historic Formula 1 cars, dating from Williams first season in Formula One in 1977 to the most recently retired models.

As part of his new role, the Indian will also act as a driver coach to customers who have purchased a running car and use Williams Heritage to run and maintain it.
