Xtra Time Web Desk: Will Brazil’s superstar footballer Neymar Jr retire from international football after the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar? There have been speculations throughout the day after his teammate Rodrygo in an interview to ESPN said the star striker will call it a day from international football after the marquee event in Qatar. The Real Madrid star also said that Neymar had promised him to hand over the iconic No.10 jersey. Neymar is the second-highest goal-scorer for Brazil. 

“Neymar told me he is leaving the national team and 10 is yours’. I didn’t even know what to say to him. I was embarrassed, I giggled and didn’t even know what to say properly. I told him that he has to play some more, that I didn’t want to now and stuff. And then he had a laugh,” Rodrygo told ESPN.

Neymar is quite upset after failing to provide a major trophy to the Selecao and that could be one major reason for him to retire after the Qatar WC 2022. The Paris Saint-Germain forward took a decision on his international career after losing the Copa America finals last year against arch-rival Argentina.
