Will Jason Roy get a chance in KKR’s next game against Delhi Capitals? | IPL2023

Xtra Time Web Desk: England’s explosive batter Jason Roy has been warming the benches in the dug-out since arriving in India. Despite failures against Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad, Knight Riders management has persisted with Rahamanullah Gurbaz ahead of Roy. The wicket-keeper batter from Afghanistan started the ongoing IPL 2023 season with a bang, smashing 57 off 44 balls against RCB at the Eden Gardens. But since then, Gurbaz has had a string of low scores. In the match against Gujarat Titans, he could manage only 15 runs while against Sunrisers Hyderabad. In the last match against Mumbai Indians on Sunday, Gurbaz managed only 8 runs.

Jason has been sweating it out with the KKR squad. Since arriving directly to Ahmedabad from London before of the match against Gujarat Titans. The dashing opener has been training hard at the KKR training session at the Eden Gardens.

Knight Riders does have some concerns too in the form of their all-rounder Andre Russell, who has struggled with the bat in this IPL. Russell could not complete his quota of overs against SRH in Kolkata on Friday night as he suffered cramps, but his three wickets did keep KKR in the game for long.

It remains to be seen if KKR would want to try out the explosive English batter Jason Roy at the top, given that Gurbaz has not been consistent.
