Why did East Bengal & Mohun Bagan meet Sourav Ganguly?

Kolkata: Kolkata giants Kingfisher East Bengal and Mohun Bagan met Atletico de Kolkata co-owner and CAB President Sourav Ganguly today at The CAB to discuss about their chances to play in the Indian Super League. On his 45th birthday, Sourav told in an exclusive interview to www.xtratime.in, that he personally wants East Bengal and Mohun Bagan in the Indian Super League. The moment the club officials came to know about it, they decided to have a chat with the Indian cricket legend.

In the meeting, Srinjoy Bose represented Mohun Bagan and Debabrata Sarkar represented East Bengal. Sourav also promised them to discuss the matter with the IMG-R supremo Nita Ambani, and will personally request her to allow them to play in the competition. After the meeting East Bengal official Debabrata Sarkar said, “Sourav told that he would want to help East Bengal and Mohun Bagan and after knowing that we decided to meet him.”

Mohun Bagan Assistant Secretary Srinjoy Bose though denied that today’s meeting was regarding the ISL. And stated that, Mohun Bagan doesn’t need any individual to favour them.
