Who helped Umesh Yadav to get his rhythm back?

XtraTime Web Desk: The Indian team management may pick speedster Umesh Yadav may get a chance in the playing XI in the first Test against West Indies. Umesh was out of the national side for quite some time due to his off form. To rectify his mistakes he went back to the academy in Vidarbha and worked with his coach Subrata Banerjee.

“After playing for a long time a fast bowler is bound to get a bit wary. I went back to the academy in Vidarbha and worked with my coach Subrata Banerjee. He told me to remain positive. It worked wonders for me. The support staff in Indian team is also backing me,” said Umesh.

Umesh is confident that he would do well for the side if he gets picked in the side.”Will be playing a test match after a long time, if I get picked. I played one game for India A recently against WI A. Wickets here are on the slower side. But as a fast bowler you need to quickly get your rythm and adjust the line and length. I tried to get my rythm right,” added Umesh.

On being asked how he worked to improve his bowing, Umesh said,”I played Ranji Trophy games after coming back from Aus. Then I played in the IPL. I worked on my bowling during that time. I prepared my mindset accordingly. I cleared my mental block.”

 Umesh feels having a bench strength of fast bowlers always keeps the a healthy competition on.”It is a healthy competition as we have bench strength of fast bowlers. Whoever does well will get a chance. End of the day it is good for the team. It pushes you to work hard on your bowling,” added Umesh.
