CFL 2016 Trophy. Xtra Time
Kolkata: A certain ruse and agitation occurred on Sunday at the Barasat stadium during a CFL Premier match between Bhowanipur and George Telegraph.

With the match progressing, the refree flashed out a red card to a Bhowanipur player, and as a result they became a man down. Despite playing with 10 men, the Bhowanipur side took the lead.

Just few minutes before the final whistle was to be blown, George Telegraph was awarded a penalty owing to which they equalised and tied the game.

After the end of the game, the Bhowanipur players crowded the refree and started throwing water bottles at him and even when the ref reached his dressing room, he was showee with those bottles.

“I tried protecting the referee and the linesman till the dressing room but they showed the red card to an important player of my team which was okay but then the referee had reportedly said of giving away a second penalty to the opposition if my boys spoke up and thus the situation got a little agitated” said Bhowanipur coach, Subrata Bhattacharya.
