Debasis Sen, Vishakapatnam: It was just another Tuesday for Pintu Behera. The 31-year-old building contractor from Masiakhali village in Odisha also has another identity. The shy looking Pintu is a die-hard fan of Indian captain Virat Kohli. One would wonder what is so special about Pintu as there are hundreds of die-hard fans of Virat like him.
Pintu has been doing tattoos of Virat ever since he started admiring from 2016. Today, Pintu has as many as 14 tattoos of Kohli, each having its own speciality. The soft-spoken Pintu has always dreamt of meeting his role model and it was this desire that made him travel from his hometown Odisha to Vishakapatnam. Previously he had been to other venues in the country wherever there is an international match but he returned empty-handed every time. Pintu packed his bags with a hope that he can show his tattoos to Virat. His dream eventually was fulfilled on Tuesday when Kohli after his pre-match press conference met Pintu who was waiting outside the press conference room. The Indian captain was taken by surprise to see so many tattoos of him on Pintu’s body. He hugged him and patted him on his back.
The next few minutes Pintu was shell shocked and could not believe what he experienced.
In his words, “It was a dream come true for me. I have been waiting for this opportunity for the last three years. I still could not believe that I could meet him (Virat Kohli) and show him my tattoos.”
