What is Dhoni doing to prove his detractors wrong?

Debasis Sen, Pallekele:
Anyone doubting MS Dhoni’s fitness should be present in Sri Lanka. The former India captain definitely has a point or two to prove as far his fitness is concerned. Easily regarded as one of the fittest cricketer in the Indian team, the former captain is putting in that extra effort to raise his fitness level. Tuesday was no different as the wicketkeeper batsman was seen sweating it out at the Pallekele International Stadium even after the optional practice session got over. He was seen taking laps around the stadium so as to keep him supremely fit and match his teammates.

A lot of questions have been indirectly raised on MS Dhoni and his career in the past few days. Leading the pack is selection committee chairman MSK Prasad who has went on record to say that Dhoni is no more the automatic choice in the ODI team. Also joining him is former India opener Gautam Gambhir who feels every player should be picked on the basis of current form and not past laurels.

He looked quite relaxed during the optional practice session today. The former captain was seen having a discussion with Team India Coach Ravi Shastri over a particular stroke. He also rolled his arms in the beginning of net session.

Clearly the ongoing series in Sri Lanka is an opportunity for Dhoni to shine and show the world that he is still one of the best in the business when it comes to the limited-overs format. One would hope he is not taking his final steps towards the dressing room.
