XtraTime Web Desk – Against Jamshedpur, it was another such match where SC East Bengal suffered because of poor referring. Even after playing with 10 man for around 70 mins without conceding a goal is definitely a positive sign for the team. Specially when their captain and star defender Daniel Fox is out injured.

Coach Robbie Fowler agreed that his team played good football but also indirectly blamed referee for his bad decisions. “Everyone does seem to be against us. It’s good that at least we got a point. In the end, it was a huge point for us”. He added, “We played against 12 men for 70 mins with our 10. That’s not a concern. If we can play the game the way we can they I think we are a good side”.

Regarding the fitness level of his team, Fowler said, “We feel like we are playing against 12 men every single game. We worked out really well tonight. We defended well”.

SC East Bengal played new players with a new strategy in this match. Speaking about that, Fowler said, “We changed because of the injuries. We are trying to use whatever player we have at our disposal. We didn’t have a proper pre season. We are massively behind everyone in terms of being ready. It’s been tough for our players”.

Liverpool legend also appreciated his two main man – Anthony Pilkington and Maghoma. He said, “They are our star players. We are depending on them maybe a little too much. Others needs to try and help them out a little bit. We are still working on the fitness. The more games we will play, the better we will look good. Tonight it was a different team. We created a lot of chances and we are more than happy with a point. We defend as a team and we attack as a team. Overall, it was a great performance”.

Overall, Fowler was really happy with his defence. He was very happy how Mohammed Irshad played. “Irshad was very good. I think he had a sloppy start but he gave everything. I think he defended really really well. Nice and solid. Put up a great shift and we expect that from our defenders”.

After a solid defensive display and struggling a bit in the attacking department, SC East Bengal doesn’t have much time to correct themselves as they will face Hyderabad FC on Tuesday.
