Xtra Time Web Desk: Delhi Capitals left arm spinner Axar Patel has joined the squad after recovering from COVID-19. Axar was allowed to join the DC squad after testing negative for COVID-19. The franchise shared a video on its social media handle twitter, confirming the development. The spinner from Gujarat was seen sharing some light moments with teammates.
Patel spent nearly three weeks in a medical care facility in Mumbai. He is back to full fitness and participated in his first-team training session on Thursday.
Axar joined DC camp on March 28 but tested positive in his second report after joining the week-long mandatory quarantine. On April 3, DC announced that Axar Patel tested positive for COVID-19. He was immediately taken to medical care.
Axar Patel is the 4th player participating in IPL 2021 to have recovered from COVID-19. Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Devdutt Padikkal and Kolkata Knight Rider’s Nitish Rana has already played matches for their respective teams after recovering.
