Watch: An unique interaction between Kohli & his deputy Rohit Sharma

XtraTime Web Desk: Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli was in all praise for his deputy Rohit Sharma after he scored a record breaking fifth ton in this ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup against Sri Lanka. After the match the India skipper was seen taking an interview of Rohit which was later uploaded on BCCI’s website. During the interview Kohli used terms like Man of the Moment’, ‘Man of the Tournament’, ‘Outstanding’ and ‘Never seen before’ to give compliment to the hitman.

Being asked about his consistency in the tournament so far, Sharma highlighted continuing his form in England and cashing in after starting the World Cup on a winning note.

“As we all know, it was an important tournament for us. We had some good form coming into the tournament. As a top-order batsman, I wanted to carry on the form which I had in the past. When you start off really well [against South Africa], it was really good,” Sharma was seen saying to Kohli.

Having narrowly missed from getting into the Indian squad which lifted the World Cup in 2011, Sharma was part of the Indian team which lost the semi-final in 2015. Being asked about his motivation for this tournament, the 32-year old cricketer laid emphasis on focusing on the normal routine.

“World Cup is a premier tournament. The focus has to be on your routine. We all know World Cup is important. Even you have said it in the past that it’s a World Cup but it’s a game of cricket. We have to play to win a game of cricket. That’s what I think,” Sharma added.
