Ashoke Dinda is passing through the form of his life . The India discard single handedly demolished the top order of Assam batting line up today at Barsapara . His bowling figures read an impressive 2-2-0-4 . The fast bowler was criticized for not getting into the rhythm at the start of the season . But with him coming into form at the right moment does augur well for Manoj Tiwari and his team . The “Naichanpur Express” by picking 4 wickets today reached a personal milestone of 302 wickets in first class cricket . XTRA TIME caught up with the pacer for an exclusive chat over the phone . XT : What do you think about Manoj’s decision to declare ?
Dinda : Assam cricketers were very tired after being on the field continuously for two days. They were not expecting the declaration coming from Manoj , particularly the openers . And that did them in as the batsman were in two minds , whether to defend or go for the kill .
XT : Your bowling spell today read 2-2-0-4.What is the secret behind this unbelievable spell?
Dinda: Frankly speaking , I also didn’t expected to have figures like this . All I was doing was just maintaining a good line and pitching the ball in the right area . I always try to give my 100 percent and rest I leave it to destiny .
XT : Did you knew about your milestone ? What about being in the august club along with the likes of
of Dilip Doshi, Utpal Chatterjee, Shute Banerjee and Ranadeb Bose.
Dinda: It’s a wonderful feeling which can’t be described in words. To be in the same club with such legends is a unbelievable feeling . I’m just playing my role in the team . All I want I is to be a member of the Ranji Trophy winning side.
XT : Do you want to dedicate your success ?
Dinda: Surely , I would like to dedicate my success so far to my first coach Atal Dev Burman. I still remember those days when I came from my village and used to stay in his house . Whatever I am today is all because of him.
XT : What will be your advice to the youngsters?
Dinda: There is no substitute for hardwork anad dedication . Always love your work and have a belief in yourself. Whenever you get an opportunity perform , give it your best try .
