Internet Desk: Viswanathan  Anand has lost his number one ranking for the first time in three decades. Pentala harikrishna replaces him as the no. 1 chess player of India. With this loss, Anand is on 2763 while Pentala Harikrishna’s is on 2763.3.

Anand suffered a fourth round loss to Sergey karjakin of Russia. Anand started the tournament very well having drawn two and a victory over Topalov. The 25 year old Karjakin took the lead in the tournament after defeating Anand. karjakin became the youngest chess grand master at the age of 12 years and 7 months in the year 2002. He also became the World Cup winner in 2015.

Anand’s form has dipped in recent time, having lost eight of his last 26 games. Anand can be the number one if he wins the next game.
