Internet Desk: Ex-Sri Lankan off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan and spin bowling coach of Vision 2020 attended the the training session today which was the consecutive third day of practice.

Bengal senior cricketers with the U-19 and U-23 cricketers had their class with all the coaches. VVS Laxman looked after batting while T.A. Sekar looked after the fast bowlers and Murali guided the spinners. Laxman was busy in showing the batsmen some new techniques.

After the training, Muralitharan spoke to the media about his successful stint with Sunrisers Hyderabad. He said, “We clicked well as a unit. David Warner was fantastic as a captain as well as batsman. Luck also favoured us in certain occasions.”

About Mustafizur Rahman he said, ” What can I say about him? He is a special talent and needs to be groomed well. For that, he needs to play more overseas tournaments.”

Murali looked amazed with the form Virat Kohli is in. He said, “He is in the best form of his life. He is consistent with India as well as in the IPL.”

“Vision 2020 is not only to bring up spinners as because I am the spin bowling coach. We are trying to set up a bank. Some really good players have come up. We have some very good and experienced coaches who will help to bring up new cricketers”, he added.

Muralitrharan did not look worried with Sri lanka’s current form as he feels they are going through a transition phase. he says, ” Some cricketers have retire so we need to give them time to set up again. It happens with every team.”
