Indian national cricket team captain Virat Kohli and his Bollywood actress wife Anushka Sharma gave a call towards raising money to continue the fight against Covid-19 through crowdfunding yesterday. Today i.e on Saturday they have been able to collect a whopping amount of 3.82 crore within 24 hours launching the campaign with a target of 7 crore in mind.

On Ketto, the crowdfunding platform the couple had donated Rs 2 crore in the fight against COVID-19 crisis. Within just a day they have been able to cross the halfway mark of targetted Rs 7 crore . Raised funds will go to ACT Grants that will be used to help in procuring medical supplies and oxygen concentrators across India.

Virat Kohli tweeted and said “3.6 crores in less than 24 hours! Overwhelmed with the response. Let’s keep fighting to meet our target and help the country. Thank you.” Anushka Sharma also tweeted “Grateful to everyone who has donated so far. Thank you for your contribution. We have crossed the halfway mark, let’s keep going." Incidentally On Friday, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma launched the campaign to raise funds for COVID-19 relief.
