Xtra Time Web Desk: India captain Virat Kohli’s lean patch in the ongoing test series against England continued as he was dismissed for only 20 runs by Sam Curran on Day 4 of the second test at Lord’s. Kohli got out in the same fashion as he has been dismissed on the last two occasions in the current series.

It was an out swinger from Sam Curran which Kohli tried to defend but edged it to the wicket-keeper. The Indian captain was so frustrated with his wicket that he threw his batting gloves in the dressing room. It was a perfect platform for Kohli to make a statement with the bat.

The Indian captain now has scored only 407 runs in his last 10 test matches since 2020. He only averages 23.94.

Kohli has last scored a century in the longer format for almost two years back. The last time he reached the three figure mark was against Bangladesh in the Pink Ball Test at Eden Gardens in 2019. Besides this, he is unable to score a half-century in the last 6 innings.

In the last three innings in the series so far Kohli has scores of 42, 0 and 20
