Virat Kohli writes to BCCI about his altercation with Gautam Gambhir and Naveen ul Haq | Report

Xtra Time Web Desk: Royal Challengers Bangalore’s star batter Virat Kohli is grabbing all the headlines for wrong reasons recently. Kohli was involved in a heated exchange with Lucknow Super Giants mentor Gautam Gambhir during the IPL 2023 game on May 1. The ugly spat between Kohli and Gambhir is talked about even after five days in the media. There have been versions from both the camps.

According to media reports, Kohli has recently written to several BCCI officials and explained the situation. The report says, the star RCB batter expressed his disappointment over the fine that the BCCI imposed on him. He even opined that he was innocent and did not do anything to Naveen-ul-Haq or Gambhir to attract such a fine from the board. The argument between Gambhir and Kohli was deemed a level 2 offence and was found to have breached the IPL Code of Conduct, and both were fined 100% of their match fees from the game as well. Naveen ul Haq was fined 50 percent of his match fees.

Virat was also involved in another controversy during the ongoing IPL 2023 season as he refused to shake hands with former BCCI President and Delhi Capitals (DC) team director Sourav Ganguly.
