The Indian team will undergo a full-fledged week-long training camp in Barbados, which will include one practice game. However, these practice matches will not have a first-class status. The BCCI had requested West Indies Cricket Board to arrange a squad with some local players.

The decision to choose Barbados over Roseau was based on the poor facilities available at the latter venue. The team management wanted the players to have the best possible conditions for their preparations.

On the other hand, the West Indies team will have their camp in Antigua at the High-Performance Centre at Coolidge Cricket Ground. Following their camp, they will travel to Dominica for the Test. Some multi-format players who are participating in the World Cup 2023 qualifiers will join the Test specialists directly in Dominica.

With the series set to begin on July 12, the Indian team aims to make the most of their training camp and practice games to fine-tune their skills and acclimatize to the conditions in the Caribbean before taking on West Indies which starts at Windsor Park in Dominica.
