The former West Indian legend is currently associated with the senior men’s team as a performance mentor. He was at the Queens Park Oval to oversee West Indies training. The meeting between Kohli and Lara was a special moment for cricket enthusiasts and fans of both players. Earlier on this tour to the Caribbean, Virat and the entire Indian team met Sir Gary Sobers when they were in Barbados.

Lara, who is currently associated with the West Indies senior men's team as a performance mentor, was present at the ground to oversee the team's training session.

After the Indian practice session concluded, Kohli approached Lara, who was engaged in a phone conversation at the time. The two legends exchanged pleasantries and shared a moment of mutual respect.

Kohli, when he was going through a rough patch in the Indian Premier League (IPL) couple of seasons back, sought batting advice from Lara.

Lara's association with the West Indies team is aimed at revitalizing the fortunes of the Caribbean side. In his role as a performance mentor, the 53-year-old legend will work closely with the international head coaches and provide tactical advice to the players. Additionally, he will collaborate with Director of Cricket and former teammate Jimmy Adams on strategic planning.
