Xtra Time Web Desk: Star India batter Virat Kohli is finally contemplating taking a break from cricket. Kohli will discuss the matter with Team India Head Coach Rahul Dravid and BCCI. A tired former India captain would like to use the break to recharge his batteries and come back strongly. Virat did showed signs of coming back to form with a brilliant 73 off 54 balls in the must win IPL game against Gujarat Titans at Wankhede Stadium on Thursday night.

Kohli has been going through an extended run of bad form. He has managed to score only 309 runs from 14 matches in IPL 2022 including two half centuries. As far as his international scores is concerned, he has last scored a ton in November 2019 against Bangladesh in the Pink Ball Test at Eden Gardens.

Kohli too feels that a break is a healthy option and has confirmed that he would discuss the matter with the current head coach Rahul Dravid and BCCI. In an interview to Star Sports, Kohli said,There is one person precisely who has mentioned it (taking break), which is Ravi Bhai and that’s because he has seen from close quarters over the last six-seven years the reality of the situation that I have been in. The amount of cricket that I have played and the toll that it takes on you with seven years of captaincy in between.”

He added, “It’s definitely a thing that one needs to consider because you don’t want to do something which you are not part of 100 per cent. And I have always believed in that in my life. So, to take a break and when to take a break is obviously something that I need to take a call on.”

Kohli believes that a break would be a healthy decision for anyone in order to rejuvenate. “I don’t think there is anything wrong with that. It’s a healthy thing with the amount of cricket we play. It’s about finding balance and that balance which is right for you as an individual. I will definitely discuss this with all the people involved – Rahul Bhai, the Indian team management, he said.

Virat has set his goal and that is to help the Indian team lift the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup later this year.

“I want to win the Asia Cup and the T20 World Cup. For that I’m ready to do anything for the team,” signed off Kohli.
