Vijay Hazare Trophy : Md Shami all set to make a return against UP

Md-Shami-04Rajkot , December 13 : Indian speedster Md Shami is all set to make a comeback into competitive cricket . Shami who last played a match on March 26 against Australia in the World Cup semi-finals is s”et to return after a gap of 8 months 13 days . The pacer have been included in the Bengal squad for their match against Uttar Pradesh . Bengal are likely to make only one change , Shami replacing Sayan Ghosh who had a miserable outing for Bengal so far in Vijay Hazare Trophy . Shami himself feels quite charged up and raring to go after coming from a long injuey lay off  ,“It’s always a great feeling to be back playing competitive cricket . I am confident of doing well . For me it’s like a comeback match .” Indeed it is very important for Shami to do well in the remaining few matches for Bengal , who is eyeing a comeback into the Indian team ,“ My first target will be to do well and get back into the India squad for the forthcoming series against Australia . If I do not get picked for the series Down Under , my next aim obviously will be to make it into the Indian squad for World Twenty 20 that will be played in India next year .” Shami will be sharing the new ball with Dinda , who he reckons have combined well with him . Last time that Shami played in this tournament  was against Tamil Nadu at the Eden Gardens where he picked 4 wickets to help Bengal win . Captain Manoj Tiwary too felt a lot confident with Shami getting match fit ahead of tie against Uttar Pradesh . The Bengal captain will be a bit concerned with the form of senior pros like Laxmi Ratan Shukla and Wridhiman Saha who haven’t got going with the bats so dar in the tournament . Talking about the loss his team suffered in the last match against Himachal Pradesh , Manoj felt , “ There’s nothing much to look into it . It was our first loss in the season , so I do not see much reason to be concerned with .” But the Bengal team management will be a lot concerned with their opponents on Sunday . Uttar Pradesh will be bolstered with the inclusion of Suresh Raina and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar in the side , which also boasts of  having India discards like Praveen Kumar and Piyush Chawla . Bengal so far have a win and a loss in the tournament . Bengal won their first match against Goa by 89 runs , while they faltered against Himachal Pradesh losing by 89 runs . Manoj Tiwary  and his team will have plenty to play for in their match against UP to keep their hopes alive in the tournament .  The match will be played at the Sourashtra Cricket Stadium .
