Internet Desk: Former England skipper Michael Vaughan warned Alistair Cook and his team to improve their batting in the sub continent; else they may suffer a whitewash in their forthcoming Test series against the world no.1 side India.

England were fortunate to have beaten Bangladesh by 22 runs, due to some brilliant bowling by  in-form all-rounder Ben Stokes.

“If they perform like they did against Bangladesh, it’ll be 5-0,” Vaughan was quoted in an interview to BBC.

Ben Stokes also put up a good show with the bat in the second innings, as he scored a gritty 86 runs and shared the 127 runs partnership with Jonny Bairstow to bail out his team from deep trouble.

According to Vaughan,  “It doesn’t matter who goes first. England for such a long time are always 30 or 40 for three. If they’re 30 or 40 for three against India they’ll get blown away.”

The former England opener warned the current players to get overjoyed with their efforts against Bangladesh.

“Yes, you celebrate a win, but hopefully England, in the background, are being honest with themselves that they can play better,” added Vaughan

During their last tour to India, England won the Test series by a 2-1 margin. The Indian batting failed miserably against the English spin duo of Monty Panesar and Graeme Swann .

England begins their five match Test series against India at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Rajkot from November 9.
