Xtra Time Web Desk: Within 48 hours after they posted a tweet on Indian captain Virat Kohli’s dismissal for a duck against England in the first T20I, Uttarakhand Police was forced to delete the tweet. The state police forced received a lot of flak online following the derogatory tweet about the Indian captain.

It is common for law enforcement agencies to use cricketers or celebrities in their tweets to raise awareness over certain issues and in most cases they end up receiving praising them for their creativity. However, a recent tweet by Uttarakhand Police for raising awareness for rash driving seems to have backfired.

The Uttarakhand Police tweeted, “A helmet is not enough! Driving in full consciousness is equally important. Otherwise, you too can get out on zero just like Kohli.”

While some took the tweet light-heartedly, others were not impressed at all. Social media users defended Virat Kohli and criticised the Uttarakhand Police for such a social media post to gain publicity.
