Xtra Time[/caption] Kalyani: Everyone knew that Mohun Bagan will not play the Kolkata derby following the announcement from their club secretary Anjan Mitra. But no one could believe that the Green and Maroon brigade would eventually skip the Kolkata derby on Wednesday. The broadcasting channel, the IFA, their arch-rivals East Bengal as well as the fans still turned up in expectation for an apparently impossible chance of witnessing the historic Kolkata derby. East Bengal team with support staff reached the venue on time and warmed-up. The referees and match officials too reached on time and waited for Mohun Bagan for half an hour to reach the venue. But they neither turned up nor picked up the call of match commissioner. After speaking with East Bengal captain Arnab Mondal, match referee Pranjal Banerjee and match commissioner Biswajit Mukherjee officially called off the match with the Red and Gold getting three points from the match and got a bit closer to the seventh CFL title. Referee and match commissioner 1 Regards to the match, East Bengal captain Arnab Mondal said, ""This is not a good advertisement for Kolkata football or rather Indian football. This is unexpected. Nobody has the right to play with the emotions of so many supporters. These two clubs are fan-centric clubs." Do-Dong Hyun smiled and said, ""If the match was played I would have scored goals again and would have been awarded the Man of the Match like the previous two derbies. But it’s unfortunate that they did not turn up.” On asking East Bengal midfield general Mehtab Hossain about this bitter experience of winning a derby, he replied in heart-broken style, "I should not say a bitter experience but a victory with the same no.of goal margin would have been more satisfying if the match was being played for 90 minutes." Match commissioner Biswajit Mukherjee said, "We do not have ample time to wait for. We had to keep in mind that Kalyani does not have the floodlight. As per IFA rules we waited for half an hour an called off the match with East Bengal getting three points from the match." Derby referee Kalyani Municipal Corporation chairman, Nilemesh Roy Choudhury who is in-charge of the stadium said, "We had all the arrangements but its unfortunate that Mohun Bagan did not turn up for the match. We did not have any flaws from the organising part and I would rather say its a victory of the organisers. We cannot force anyone to play." Meanwhile, IFA secfretary Utpal Ganguly looked disheartened and upset with all that happened today in the derby. He said, "In this way we cannot continue. Things must change and for that I would take a call on changing the amendment discussing with all the clubs." Regarding the called off derby match, he added, "If the match commissioner Biswajit Mukherjee submits his report by tomorrow, I will call the league sub-committee meeting day after tomorrow and will decide on how much points will be deducted from Mohun Bagan." He signed off saying, "After working for 12-13 hours for IFA , I expected a little cooperation from the two clubs. I feel guilty of not running the IFA properly and if there is anymore eligible person than me then I am happy to resign. But there must be a solution. I do not take any thing from the IFA rather I give to this association."     https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Brbn9JfIHJQ
