Brazillian midfielder Neymar and French striker Mbape combined in the first leg to win the tie 3-2 in favour of them at Bayern's home turf. So in the second leg target was clear for Bayern. They had to win by a clear margin of two goals to advance through to the next stage.

Eric Choupo Mouting scored just before the interval as the tie stood at 3-3 aggregate with PSG having the advantage on away goals rule. In the second half Bayern tried hard to score their second but failed in the process handing PSG a win in the tie as they go through to semifinal on away goal rule.
