Internet Desk: Indian shuttler Kidambi Srikanth thumped Rio Olympic 2016 gold medalist Chen Long of China to win the Australian Open Super Series title on Sunday. It was his second successive Super Series title.
Last week the World No.11 badminton player bagged the Indonesian Open Super Series title and moved up 11 places in World ranking. Srikanth won the title in straight games 22-20, 21-16 in less than an hour time. It was Srikanth’s first win against Long, as he lost all the matches in last six meetings.
Kidambi earlier beat current World No.1 Son Wan Ho in the second round to reach the quarterfinals of the Australian Open Super Series. That was his second back to back victory over the South Korean international in two weeks.
